New Mexico permit practice
Learn the rules, understand your mistakes and build confidence with New Mexico Test 1.
Prepare for the New Mexico knowledge test
New Mexico’s MVD links its English driver manual from the official manuals page. Study traffic controls, right-of-way, parking, space management and safe driving. Use the MVD licensing guidance alongside the manual to check permit and application requirements.
This set covers signs and lane markings, right-of-way, speed and stopping, parking, turns, freeway driving, pedestrians and cyclists, impairment, emergencies and safe driving. It is a starting point, not complete coverage of the manual.
Rules worth revisiting
Review the 25-foot intersection crosswalk parking restriction, 18-inch curb limit, turn signals and safe use of shared turn lanes.
Choose how you practice
Practice Mode
Work without a timer. Selecting an answer shows the explanation and official source immediately. You can revise answers while learning; the final selections determine your result.
Timed Test Mode
Use a 40-minute session with explanations held until submission or timeout. Navigate between questions, flag items and track your progress. The timer continues if you leave or reload.
40 questions and 40 minutes are PrepTestLab practice settings. This is not a reproduction of the official examination or its time allowance.
Use your result to plan what to study
The practice target is 80% — 32 of 40 correct. Unanswered questions count as incorrect. This aggregate target is our learning benchmark, not an official pass or a prediction of your licensing result.

Road-rule content checked against the agency-authored manual and official guidance. Questions and explanations are original PrepTestLab material, with shared foundational scenarios where rules agree. This is not an independent driving-instructor review. A review date is the date of our check, not a claim that the agency issued a new manual that day. Agency-hosted manuals may carry an earlier edition date.
